Empire State of Mind

My absolute favorite part of visiting New York was having the opportunity to eat at some of the city's most interesting (and delicious!) restaurants. Jordan picked great places to eat, and my favorite "meal" was our midnight waffles from the Wafels and Dinges truck.
The next morning we found out that Wafels and Dinges was named Best Food Truck in America on TLC's "Best Food Ever." Also, if anyone's a fan of Bobby Flay (love him!), he had a throwdown here!
Mmmm, SO GOOD.

We both got spekuloos (it's like peanut butter, but it's made of gingerbread cookies and graham crackers), strawberries, and raspberry-vanilla ice cream.
The next night we went to The Meatball Shop for dinner, which was also on the Food Network. I never knew meatballs could be so good! I ordered classic meatballs with parmesan cream sauce - and I've been craving this meal all over again since I've come home.
Jordan at the meatball shop...The majority of my pictures from this weekend are with food.
As I mentioned yesterday, that night we went to ABC Kitchen for dessert - and we ended up splitting three. I'm not even ashamed, haha. We had a peach and raspberry cobbler with sweet corn ice cream, a salted caramel ice cream sundae with hot fudge and caramel corn, and doughnuts with strawberry jam and bacon hot fudge. It was crazy, I don't know how they got the fudge to taste like bacon, but it did. I am going to try and find a recipe to make some myself!

Sunday morning we headed out to Chinatown and Little Italy. We ate at a little restaurant in Chinatown and ordered veggie and pork dumplings. I tried a scallion pancake (I was a little hesitant at first, I won't lie), but I loved it and I'm definitely ordering that the next time I get Chinese food.

Before I left we got dessert in Little Italy - do you see a theme here? I love cannolis, so I had a chocolate one and Jordan ordered tiramisu.

The next time you're in New York, I recommend stopping at any of the places we ate at this past weekend. I can't wait to go back to these places again :)
